Hi All

So far I am really happy working with phpbb3 and as yet I di not run to any major issues. Hopefully everything can be modified with MODS.

Of course the more MODS, I apply, the more difficult will be to do upgrade to future versions.

Is moving from phpbb to vbulletin even possible?

I think might be little too hard. Probably you are stuck with phpbb, which is not such a bad thing.

Make the most of it ;)

Everything is possible. You need to know the db scheme for both platforms and then write your own SQL queries to transfer data. If it ever has been achieved, you might even sell it to those that decide to switch to VBulletin. Make some good $$$
