The dash can make all the difference. I read a post where the they had text like
Superbowls and Superb-Owls and Super-Bowls
or something like that. There were plenty of more amusing ones yet they escape me at the moment.

Cool share about what Cutts said. I've always tried to avoid dashes. If you are going for a site that is like nottooold, you could find similar domain names like notexactlynew... or something.
