As you know Google announced some months a go that load speed of pages is a factor for ranking results. Now my question is: Has some body experienced penalizing because of low speed of his server?If yes, how did you solve the problem?
And should all of us buy dedicated server for our websites?

yes server speed matters a lot if Google crawler facing problem while crawling your site then it can decrease your ranking .One of my site was not doing quite well few days ago but after changing my server i am suddenly getting more traffic from google now

yes, slow site speed does affect google search rank and if your website was affected due to this one, you better examine your website again and make a move, combining all javacripts and css & avoid URL redirects... just some few tips.

We don't all need dedicated servers, however with hosting you will usually get what you pay for.

It makes sense that if a company is charging $5 per month for unlimited data and transfers the server will need a lot of clients hosted on it for the hosting company to make a profit. One of my favourite questions I think of when I see hosting companies advertising Unlimited Space and Bandwidth is "How many unlimited accounts can you fit on one server?"

Google provides graphs of your sites speed in the Webmaster tools section if your site is on the slow side it might be time to look at your coding or possibly a new hosting company.

Website speed is a serious issue and must be taken seriously. It effects on search engine rank and on visitors as well. Nobody wants to spend lot of time on a webpage loading.
