What is the best method to get Google to crawl a site more frequently. At times it seems like google takes upto a week to visit my site.

I think I read somewhere that by getting backlinks from very popular sites, is one way to get Google to follow those and visit your site.

The first thing to consider to is to make sure you update your content often and regularly. Google loves new information. Get more back links from regularly crawled sites or shall we say huge and popular websites. Add a sitemap as this is important and lastly monitor google crawl rate by using google webmaster tools.

If you have 2 links from sites with PR7 you can get indexed straight away. The lower the page rank the more links you need.
