Techniques to improve your backlinks

Here are several techniques you can use to improve your website backlinks and PR.

- Submit it to every search engines you have ever hear of. If you don't know any use a tool such as the one on AddPro

- Submit your site to directories starting from the top and working your way down. Vmoptions has the biggest list i have come across so perhaps start there!

- Register on forums such as DigitalPoint, Sitepoint and v7n and post your sites link in your signature. Also take advantage of announcement sections!

- Begin to write articles or hire someone to do it for you if you don't know how and have a link in it to your site then submit it to article directories.

- If you have done all of these, continue to post on forums, submit to directories and look into link building methods such as link wheels to increase your backlinks even further.

- Lastly make contact with owners of websites in a similar niche to you and trade links. Perhaps even to a 3 way trade to maximize link power.

These are just a few of the things you can do to increase your website/blogs backlinks and traffic.

Other methods include using social networking sites, social bookmarking sites, purchasing paid traffic or paying for banner spots.

Thanks! I forgot to mention that to keep useful and updated content :p Which is essentially one of the most important steps in building backlinks haha you can't just rely on your own link building, you need people to actually want to link to your site and build its popularity.

Diversify... Do not follow just one tecnique, for example, directories.

Do not allow search engines detect any linking campaign pattern.

Timothy, I have couple of questions for you. does it look spammy if you submit you site to whole lot of search engines out there ?
and I've also heard that directory link doesn't carry much value as they use to be ?

Search engine submission is not spammy because links in search engines are not crawled by other search engines.

Submission to quality web directories is still very good for your site's SEO
