Hey guys,

everywhere all we can hear is 'Google, google and google'. People are going behind google like mad. But I strongly believe that smaller search engines (not in size, but in market share :D) Ask and altavista can do well. A recent study reveals that the conversion percentage (to clicks or to leads) from Ask.com is much bigger than that of Google. But the fact is that as they have only 2.5% of the search share it is not being cared by Webmasters.

Flek.

You might be right flek. I always belive that Quality and Quantity hardly walk hand in hand. Google is a monster and because it has to concentrate on so many pages to index, so many users, they might be little under pressure.

Plus they get spammed most of the times. What I mean is that spammers mostly concentrate how to fool Google algorithm and never worry abut smaller engines and how they work. Simply Google is a target.

Perhaps also Google now lost guard a bit because they've already been to the top, and you know what they say the only way from the top is ...

Since Google has much in which its rapid growth has sparked a sequence of new products, acquisitions and partnerships beyond its core search engine. But Ask.com & Alta Vista also good search engines. These two are not that much familiar and hence have not been reached to many people knowledge..

If smaller search engines want to compete Google, the they have to improve their algorithms and also the need to produce good results as Google do.But as per current scenario it is very difficult for smaller engines to compete with Google as they need to lot of hard work in order to get closer with Google
