Each search engine should have its own submission form where you can exclude a site from search index.

Google's removal form is located on their webmaster tools pages

Sometimes, a content from your website can be copied to any blog submission pages. you can able to know that by checking. So you can disallow the duplicate copy of your content using robots.txt Then, there is no need to visit your cached pages to be visited by search engine bots. You can also disallow those pages using robots.txt

Use a combination of robots.txt, htaccess and meta tags to block particular search engines/user-agents/IP addresses/ranges

Note that robots.txt and meta tags do not actually prevent a search bot from accessing your page, rather you are just telling the bot you don't want your page crawled.. "crappy" search engines may crawl your site regardless.

To be sure, block any unwanted bots/scrapers with the .htaccess file

You can do this by applying .htaccess or robot.txt to prevent Google crawler to crawl your site and if you want to block your whole site then you can do this by removing the sitemap from your site
