I have just started learning seo before 2 months. I want to know about image Optimization.

Some major search engine did not recognize images. Image alternate-text tags (ALT tags) are only indexed where the image is part of a hyperlink. However ALT tags are useful for non-graphical browsing and should be in use correctly.

When adding images to our site, for proper optimized images, Alt attribute is used, because Google do not read images while crawling, so it adds Alt attribute to inform crawlers what exactly it is. even alt tag is useful for non-graphical browsing.

If your site has lot of images, you need to optimize them too as they can’t be read by the search engines. It’s very easy for a human reader to interpret the image into its meaning. However for a Web crawler the whole interpreting process is completely different. Search Engine spiders can only read text but not images. Crawlers are unable to read images and the flash part of your web page but these images or flash is required to influence the visitors. Thus Optimize this images with suitable contents using Alt tags which reflects your proper business.

In image optimization, what we do is we use title in image and the title should be main keyword which you are targeting to optimize, this is main thing in image optimization you should also put sufficient content so that data would be indexed in Google.
